Robert Rietty was the voice of the unseen Number 2 the Prisoner episodes, 'Many Happy Returns' and 'The General'. Born on February 8th 1923 in Ferrara, Italy, he is probably most well-known for providing, with Charles Gray, Jack Hawkins' voice after he lost his voice box to cancer, although Robert actually began his acting career as long ago as 1933 aged only 10. A close friend of Orson Welles, he has appeared in many films and TV programmes, including two episodes of the second 'Danger Man' series and still works as both a director and actor.

His most memorable performances were in the films The Crooked Road, The Italian Job and The Omen.
